But one of the elders said, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David has prevailed to open the scroll and loose its seven seals." - Revelations 5:5

Personal Testimony

Raised in the mountains of western Pennsylvania, young Ron Kosor was a man committed to the Lord, yet naive to the ways of the world. A natural athlete, he set his goal to become an NFL football player.

Ron Kosor, Sr. recognized his son's potential and worked to be able to enroll his son in a private high school where Ron excelled in sports and achieved a scholarship to a Division 1 college, North Carolina State University. As a student at NCSU, Ron was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. This opened many opportunities for speaking engagements in high schools across the state where he could share his belief in Jesus. Prison Fellowship, founded by Chuck Colson, was another major ministry of which Ron was a part during his college career. These organizations and the opportunities through them helped Ron excel in his academic studies and he graduated with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology.

Athletically, Ron was a four-year letterman and three-year starter for the NCSU Wolfpack. By his senior year, he was rated by two major NFL scouting reports, National and Blesto, as the 2nd best center in the country.

Anticipating high success in the NFL draft, Ron was signed by the New England Patriots on a two-year contract basis. Following the Patriots, Ron was signed to a 3-year contract with the Detroit Lions. It was with Detroit that Ron suffered a career-ending injury. He then faced the most difficult transition of his life--that of an NFL player to becoming an average working man.

Ron set his goals on the business world and moved back to Raleigh, NC, where he created and managed several large corporations: Pro Coach Transportation, Inc., a limousine service; Big Daddy K's, a restaurant; and co-managed R & R Beauty Supply with his mother and sister. After struggling with the loss of his NFL career, everything seemed to again be "smooth sailing". In the eyes of the world, Ron seemed to "have it made". Three thriving corporations, a new home, seven limousines, four vans---everything he dreamed of possessing in his life, he had.

But a past few people knew came back to haunt Ron Kosor. It was a period of his life he wanted so hard to forget, a situation which he wanted no one to ever know.

The 1980's were a time of steroid drug abuse, in and out of professional sports. During his years in the NFL and shortly thereafter, Ron abused and sold steroids. Because of that abuse, he also became involved in the distribution of cocaine. Eventually, Ron was indicted. Over the next two and one-half years, he lost all he had worked so hard to build.

Yet, Ron Kosor's true life, and his true testimony of Jesus Christ, were only about to begin. The Lord saw fit to show him love, chastisement and even mercy. These things became evident during the times of destitution which followed. Eventually, Ron was sentenced to serve 18 months in a federal prison.

It was during that period that Ron came to a full realization of what God wanted him to be and what God desired for Ron to fulfill.

These days, Ron Kosor tells everyone "I am living a dream." Browse this site, and see the blessings and favor which have surrounded this man and all those around him who love Jesus.

Ron Kosor's testimony is beautiful because through all the trials and struggles of his life, he has learned to place God in the center. He has learned to withstand the hardships and work diligently for the victories. It may be difficult to understand the challenging battles and tests Ron Kosor has survived. He has truly turned all his tests into testimonies.
