« Doctrines :: Galatians epistle

Dear Writer,
Basically I agree with what you are saying here, but I would just love for the body of Christ to see the next level of REVELATION they need to possess to fully understand Paul's Gospel! The key to everything you are saying about the book of Galatians lies within the book of Acts. Please read below. My thoughts will be highlighted in red. Revelation in this dispensation has always come through stages---never look at the man--- always consider the message and the scripture backing the message.
In the book of Galatians, we see that Paul uses very strong language to express himself because the church at Galatia
How would Paul have known about Galatia? When was Paul with them before and how do we know beyond a doubt?
had departed from the gospel of grace and had turned to a gospel of works They were Gentiles who were actually turning to the Old Covenant---actually turning to the Law of Moses, which for Gentiles, was never even their covenant!
to maintain their salvation.See, this is all Old Covenant language, my friend. Paul was seeing the Jewish and Gentile believers returning to the Old covenant. But what did the Galatians turn FROM? What is the gospel that Paul preached? This is what needs to be seen and understood.
They seemed to think that even though they were saved by grace that they had to "prove" their salvation by doing some type of work (i.e. circumcision).The problem was not only circumcision-- it was the fact that the Jewish believers were telling both Jews and Gentiles alike that they had to circumcise their children, AND they were telling them they had to follow the customs of Moses. See, it is all Old covenant language, and only applies to Jews---not Gentiles. Now, how do I know all of this? Revelation knowledge based solely on the Word of God!
Today, it would appear that water baptism is that work. How many religious denominations will allow someone to become a member of their fellowship without water baptism of some sort? In my humble opinion, I will not say what the specific "work" is. What I will say though, is they do not see the REVELATION of the mystery that Paul preached---What was, and still today is, Paul’s gospel?
Paul tells us that when we add works, we are perverting the gospel of the grace of God and that perversion then becomes another gospel. Paul says that anyone who preaches another gospel, other than what he preached, that person is accursed. What Christ accomplished on the cross was sufficient to satisfy the justice of God; there is nothing that we can do to gain or maintain our salvation. Other than what Paul preached!!! What WAS Paul preaching??? What Paul was preaching, my friend, was the FOUR DECREES found in Acts 15 19-30! This was and still is his gospel--this cannot be denied once you see it. These decrees were the basis of the first epistle that was written, and Paul was the man chosen by God to bring this revelation to the GENTILES. Paul then chose a man by the name of Timothy (Acts 16:3-4) and they went through the cities (What cities? Galatians, Ephesians, Philippi, Corinth, Rome, Thessalonica--Acts 16:4) delivering the DECREES that they (The Jerusalem Council) had decided upon in Acts 15.
What decrees and what cities one might ask? The decrees should be known to all. If they are not known to you, it is because of Eph 3:1- 8. (But I will begin in Verse 3)"...THAT BY REVELATION THERE WAS MADE KNOWN TO ME THE MYSTERY, ASI WROTE TO YOU IN BRIEF.AND BYREFERRING TO THIS, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which in other generations was not made known, (was hidden) to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;"
But NOW it has been REVEALED......THIS IS IT, my friend.
It is ALL in the letter, the first epistle, in Acts 15:19-30. This is what they were departing from in the book of Galatians--- the DECREES that were earlier delivered to them by Paul and Timothy, for them to follow. See, there were Jewish believers in Jesus who WERE STILL saying (at the time of this epistle to the Galatians) that the Gentiles must be circumcised and that they must follow the customs of Moses (old covenant). Even after the JERUSALEM COUNCIL had made the decision that we, the Gentiles, were not required to follow the customs of Moses, and did not have to circumcise our children, there were still Jewish believers trying to convince (disturbing) Gentile believers that they were required to circumcise and follow the Laws of Moses or they could not be saved!!! Now, the JEWS STILL COULD IF THEY CHOSE TO, but we, as Gentiles, do not have to follow the Old Covenant. This was and is the Gospel that Paul preached.
Paul stresses the fact that the gospel he preached was not received from man but by revelation of Jesus Christ.
(Galatians 2:16 KJV) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Everything written in the letter to those at GALATIA, must be seen in the proper light, or should I say---by the Spirit of REVELATION. What I mean by this is that you must see the connection WITH THE BOOK OF ACTS AND EACH ONE OF THE EPISTLES, or letters, written later to each one of the cities or regions to which Paul and Timothy delivered the four decrees. This is the key to understanding the MYSTERY--- the Gospel that Paul preached---FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, THE FOUR DECREES, AND FREEDOM FROM CIRCUMCISION AND THE LAW OF MOSES. This was what Paul preached everywhere he went.
And this is what we should be preaching everywhere we go, too...
Love and God bless,
Pastor Ronald David Kosor
