Do you know that what we hold in our hands as the Holy Bible was not available to anyone but scholars for many centuries? Even Peter and Paul and the other disciples had no New Covenant to follow. They were living it and writing it down so that you and I would benefit from it in these times.

To them, and to the people these men of God were teaching in the early churches, the New Covenant was both "rhema" and prophetic. The New Covenant did not exist during the time of the apostles.
