Blessings to you from Alpha Lion's Den and Angel Food!!!
First of all, I want to thank all of you for your support of Angel Food Ministries, and for your understanding and encouragement as this program grows and evolves.
Since our first distribution of 34 orders, this program has doubled in size each month. This tells us this program is needed in Westmoreland County. Once the truck arrived on November 18th, we distributed nearly 850 boxes in less than 2 hours!
With that kind of rapid growth, there will always be some "growth pains". So for any inconvenience our growth has caused, I am truly sorry.
One thing we will have to realize in the coming months is that we must work together, be understanding and forgiving, and be flexible. We are the first church in Westmoreland County to make this kind of commitment to Angel Food and to make this food ministry work at this level---and we are doing it!
So as we continue to grow, please continue to love, forgive and understand that we are only doing our best to accommodate you in the most efficient way we can. We are learning through experience every month.
So with that in mind, let me share a few simple rules which we will enforce to ensure you the best service we can give you:
1. It is mandatory that you pick up your food on delivery day. If you cannot make it, because of work or an appointment, please designate someone else to pick up your order. Sometimes, things happen which slow down the distribution process. To be fair to all, we will not put you ahead of others who are waiting. Put aside the time on the morning of delivery because there are occasional delays in distribution. IF YOU DO NOT COME FOR, OR WAIT FOR YOUR ORDER, IT WILL BE GIVEN AWAY.
Remember to bring a large box or laundry basket to pick up your order!!!!!!
2. No One may pick up any order without the yellow Angel Food receipt we are now providing. If you do not bring it, you will be politely asked to leave and return with it. We will not be able to look up your order because of the growth of this outreach, and because it slows down the process. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to put your receipt somewhere safe and bring it on pick-up day. IF SOMEONE ELSE IS PICKING UP YOUR ORDER, THEY MUST HAVE YOUR YELLOW RECEIPT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
3. A number will be written on your yellow receipt when you register and the registrar will initial the receipt. It will be in the order you come to pick up your order that you receive your number. After you have your number, please take a seat in the sanctuary pews. Relax and enjoy yourself. Make some new friends. Listen to the music. You will be called by number to go downstairs to pick up your order.
4. When you go downstairs to pick up your order, please pay attention to what is being placed in your basket or box. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make certain your order is complete BEFORE LEAVING THE PREMISES. Angel Food reserves the right to substitute items which were on the original order forms with items of a similar type or to totally replace items with other items. We have NO control over this.
 
5. Please remember distribution day now has a two hour window for distribution. This window WILL INCREASE as we grow. WE WILL NOT ASSIGN YOU A TIME TO PICK-UP. On your receipt, we will give you a bracket of times. For example, 10am to 12noon. It will then be totally your responsibility to come to pick up your order within that timeframe. You do not need to arrive the first minute of the timeframe, but we do need YOUR BODY here within those times so we can get the orders out fast and efficiently. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AND RECEIVE YOUR NUMBER ON YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE THE TIMEFRAME WRITTEN ON YOUR RECEIPT ENDS. We WILL NOT wait for you AFTER that time period ends. Often, things go so fast we are done before the timeframe we set. So please come between the times we state to you on your receipt. . We WILL wait at least until the timeframe passes. After that, if we are done, we will pack up all the undistributed food, bless people with it, and we will go home.
NOTICE: Phone calls will only be accepted prior to the timeframe on your receipt to accommodate emergency requests. No phone calls will be accepted after the delivery timeframe begins.
6. ONE STOP SHOPPING--You may make your order for the next month on the previous month's delivery day. We accept only EXACT CASH, money order or food stamps. We cannot accept personal checks. We will not make change. If you do not bring EXACT CASH, you will be asked to return with it on that day prior to the end of delivery day or before the next order's due date. We take orders on delivery day AS A COURTESY TO YOU--so you don't need to make two trips to Derry.

7. NO REFUNDS. NO PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENTS. WE CANNOT CREDIT FORGOTTEN ORDERS TO ANOTHER MONTH. ALL SPOILAGE MUST BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY, AND THE ITEM RETURNED DIRECTLY TO US FOR REPLACEMENT/SUBSTITUTION. EVERYONE MUST BE HELD TO THE SAME STANDARD OF PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. EVERYONE.
8. WE ACCEPT FOOD STAMPS if you bring us your ACCESS card and a form of ID with your current address on it. YOU MUST KNOW YOU HAVE ENOUGH FOOD STAMPS IN YOUR ACCOUNT BEFORE ORDERING. IF ANGEL FOOD DOES NOT GET PAID, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO USE FOOD STAMPS EVER AGAIN. ALL FUTURE TRANSACTIONS WILL THEN BE CASH ONLY. YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN YOUR FOOD UNTIL ACCESS PAYMENT IS VERIFIED OR YOU BRING CASH TO PAY FOR IT.
9. MAIL ORDERS??? We DO NOT encourage mail orders, but if you must, send your order no later than the Friday before the orders are due. We will NOT be responsible for lost or late orders. (A better idea is to pay for next month's order the day you pick up the previous month's order.) Send ONLY money orders, made to ALDM, Inc. Send the order to: ALDM, Inc. 716 W. 4th Ave., Derry, PA 15627. No cash or food stamps through the mail.
10. IN PERSON ORDERS may be made at the church in Derry (from 10 – 6 during the order week as indicated on monthly menu) unless you call to make other arrangements. (Call 724-694-9901 for directions or visit our website at www.godslionsden.com.) Most orders are placed directly in Derry. ALL food stamps orders must go directly through us.
11. Ask your church if they are making orders for Angel Food through our host site.

I give my word that I will continue to do the best I can to serve the people of our local churches and communities through Angel Food. That is the best I can do--offer you high quality food at a low cost to help you stretch your food dollars. If you do not have a good home church, you are always welcome to visit us. If you do have a good church, support your Pastor and commit to your church’s vision! The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few! I will be praying for all of you, and may the Lord continue to richly bless each and every one of you!
