It Started In A Coffeehouse

Alpha Lion's Den Ministries, Inc. has over 50 years of combined experience in dealing with the wants and needs of people in our community. We are a combination of two very distinct ministries which have merged as one.

Lion's Den Ministry was a dream and a vision that Pastor Ronald Kosor had for over 20 years.This dream was birthed in a small strip mall in Youngwood, PA in October of 2000.

The Lion's Den was a coffeehouse that was known as a gathering place for the armies of the Lord. Regardless of where you congregated for services on Sunday, you could meet and greet your Brethren in Christ at the Lion's Den for food, fun and fellowship.

Now, as Alpha Lion's Den Ministries, Inc. we continue the next phase of our dream---to being unity to the Body of Christ, regardless of your denomination. Remember, it is not about "your own little empire". TRUE MINISTRY is about building the Kingdom of God together. Jesus said, "By this all men shall know you are My disciples--by your love one for another."

Therefore, we must see beyond the denominational barriers that have been created by mankind and love one another regardless of our denominational differences.

God really has used the Lion's Den to teach many of us, along with so many others, the risks and rewards of this desire to have love and unity in the body of Christ. I must say it has been well worth it. We have seen so many people come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are to seek and save those who are lost-- those who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior--and for those of us who know Him personally, we are to build up, love and encourage one another in the faith.

God has been faithful in blessing this ministry yearly with an increase in love, anonting, people, power, finances and most of all, the peace that surpasses all understanding, that only He can give.

New Life Community Church-United Methodist was built on this site in 1956 in Derry, PA. This church has been a pillar in the community for many, many years. Has it had problems in its 50+ year period during which God was so faithful? Certainly--but what does not kill us makes us stronger. So even though, at times, the church had to overcome tribulation, God has had His hand on a select group of people at this church who just would not quit! They had the faith to believe that God was going to move on their behalf, no matter how things looked.

You see, "without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Heb. 11:6)

God has been extremely faithful to both of these ministries by bringing them together to form one committed, strong, dedicated, loving, caring body of believers who gather together a 716 West 4th Avenue in Derry, PA every week, worshipping together and involved in many community outreaches.

Our Sunday services are 9:30am to 11:30am with a fellowship luncheon afterwards.
Wednesday is our Meateater's Bible Study which begins at 7pm.
Friday is Spirit-led worship, open to all faiths. And as scheduled, we bring in special Christian performers as least once per month, usually the last Friday of each month. Check our calendar for details of our Friday Worship.

ALDM, Inc., the non-profit incorporation of this ministry, birthed in 2003, seeks ways to minister in the community at large, bringing programs which are vital to the growth of our churches and our surrounding communities.
